My latest BPA inquiries

maybe it’s to keep me active from obsessing over tyler’s surgery, but i am using some of my time to continue inquiring with reference to plastics that i own or purchase.i’ve continued devoting a few minutes here and there to skim a handful active blogs that keep me updated on the latest bpa findings and gen. a interest of the blogs own the same information, but there’s usually a bit of unfamiliar information among shared information. i have found a few posts that said mott’s packaging has bpa in it. but before i toss my stock of cull-serv cups of applesauce, i want to be comprised of c hatch sure this is true. since i found out that gerber containers with #7 don’t have bpa on the inside of the containers (but are used on the exterior), i wondered relative to the mott’s and portion #7 plastic packaging.i’ve contacted mott’s, dole, kitchenaid, and pampered chef to check on products that father no plastic code or a #7.i received an email response from dole that stated that their plastic containers and packaging. it was longer, but here’s the most powerful part:dole’s plastic containers and plastic packaging are made either of polypropylene or polyethylene; no polycarbonate plastics are acclimatized.so, i guess i can still count on dole for some of our convenience foods like pudding and fruit cups….i expectancy to informed entertain from other companies soon.edit: while typing this mail, i received a response from mott’s. by the look of the email, i think there is not bpa in their containers, however, they stated that the only upshot that uses a #7 code is their fruitsations line of products. but i also give birth to an original applesauce and flipped it over and above to see a #7 on it too. hmm, i’m going to see if i can pursue a more unconfused statement near all their products.here, you read the email and require me what you think:

The recent analysis of bisphenol A (BPA) in plastic containers by the National Toxicology Program and Health Canada focused primarily on the risks associated with polycarbonate baby bottles and certain other #7 plastics.It’s important to note that the “#7″ designation is carried by a variety of plastics that do not fall specifically into any of the other categories. Only one of our products, Mott’s Fruitsations, is packaged in a #7 container, but we have been assured by our vendor that it does not contain BPA.

Since Mott’s Fruitsations has no preservatives, it requires innovative, robust packaging to maximize shelf life. To that end, our packaging engineers developed a container made of #5 polypropylene; however, as this packaging is multilayered, with an inner and outer shell separated by an oxygen barrier layer, it carries the “#7,” or “other,” designation. Therefore, we remain confident that the packaging used on this and all of our products is safe and have no plans to make any alterations.
